A Transfigured Night

The journey we want to invite you on, is one full of intrigue, of passion, of regret and remorse.

It is an exploration of the way music gives voice to the deepest tensions of human experience-

both sensual and spiritual desire, conflict within ourselves, and the redemptive possibility of transformation.

The program will start off with meditation from Thais by Jules Massenet, followed by Chausson Piano Trio in G minor, and conclude with Schoenberg's string sextet Verklärte Nacht, arranged for piano trio.

The short interlude from the opera Thaïs, offers a luminous counterpoint to the darker struggles of Schoenberg and Chausson, however, embodying both the ache of renunciation and the serenity of transcendence.
